OUR STORY

Our story began when we recognised a neglected historic superfood right on our doorstep – the rugged isolated shorelines of Wick in North Scotland. It was here we discovered that the region’s cool, clean waters provide the perfect conditions for our nutrient dense seaweed to thrive.

Not only is seaweed good for us, it’s great for the planet too, and we’ve made it our duty to protect it! Out on the shore, harvesters expertly hand-pick our seaweed in season to make sure enough remains for regrowth and reproduction. Time is taken to carefully manage the local coastline, making sure our harvested seaweed is always 100% sustainable.

Once picked, harvesters carry our seaweed back to the factory, where it is carefully airdried to preserve the goodness. As a “superfood”, seaweed is loaded with more minerals than almost any other vegetable. Bursting with fibre, calcium, potassium, antioxidants and iodine, it can give you the perfect health boost to get you through the day!

Seaweed is a rich source of natural umami – a term that roughly translates to deliciousness in Japanese! Through dozens of trials, we have carefully crafted our recipes to deliver this delicious savouriness in all our ranges.
